Bio
Serena Marshall serves as White House Correspondent for Scripps News. In this role, she reports on the Biden Administration and the 2024 presidential race, covering both the then Biden, now Harris-campaign from the primaries through major events, including the presidential debates and the conventions.
Prior to joining Scripps, she worked as a freelance correspondent based in Washington, reporting for CBS News, WUSA and Rolling Stone. She is also the creator and host of Track the Vax [trackthevax.com], a two-season podcast by Everyday Health and MedPage Today focused on the race for a COVID-19 vaccine; and served as an adjunct professor in the College of Journalism at the University of Florida.
An award-winning broadcast news correspondent, Serena covered the White House and Capitol Hill for ABC News as a correspondent, producer, and reporter. Her reporting has included the first impeachment trial of President Trump, U.S. immigration both domestically and from the northern triangle, and she helped lead the team that broke the restoration of diplomatic ties between the U.S. and Cuba, which won the Merriam-Smith award for outstanding coverage. During her time as a reporter/producer for ABC News, she was also part of the breaking news team that won an Edward R. Serena holds a master’s degree in health communication from the University of Florida and a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism - News Reporting also from Florida. As a mother of two (perfect) young girls, her free time is limited to playing make-believe and hosting tea-parties. But also soaking up the snuggles, attempting some at home DIY projects, yoga, and traveling.
